
Diego Las Heras is a Canadian/Chilean composer, producer, and mixing engineer based in New York City. He is currently a member of the faculty at New York University.
Diego holds an Arranging & Composition degree from Escuela Moderna de Música (Chile), a B.A. in Jazz Studies from Humber College (Canada), and a Master of Music in Music Technology from New York University (USA). His music has been performed by a range of artists and ensembles, including the Chilean Youth Symphonic Orchestra, and is featured in films, documentaries, video games, and television shows worldwide.
In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Luis Advis Composition Award by the Government of Chile. As a sound artist, Diego has collaborated with contemporary artists such as Sylvia Palacios Whitman, María Verónica San Martín, and Alexander Molochnikov. His work has been presented at prominent venues and institutions, including Artists Space, ISP/Whitney (NYC), Kunstfestspiele Herrenhausen (Germany), Americas Society, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, the Santiago Museum of Contemporary Art, and the National Archives of Chile.
